For centuries there was no distinct difference between clothing and decoration fabrics. The same cloth could become a dress, a curtain or end on a wall. Today the two worlds are more specified but we often see “contaminations” between them. That’s why we gave our wallcovering the name of one of the most iconic french couturier of all times: Christian Dior. His taste for subtle elegance and luxury will always be of great inspiration.
To follow that same goût for refinement we gave the abstract pattern of our wallcovering a delicate luster to enhance the chenille surface. Chenille yarn was invented in the eighteenth century to give a velvety touch to textiles using the same loom setting than any other cloth.
The look can be so close to velvet sometimes that they could be mistaken. We were not looking for that special velvet look but the fluffy textured surface is the perfect match for that fine sheen.
